As a professional reader, I am compelled to share truly special books: ones that opened up a new aspect of my consciousness. Whether about ecosystems, identity or that moving-target concept that is "the future," these pieces represent fictional worlds that expanded my view of the real world.

The strong dominant central focus of each piece honors the human eye, our primary interface during the simple but revolutionary act of reading.
Each artwork is named after the book title, followed by the Dewey Decimal code (F = Fiction), followed by the first three letters of the author's last name. The convention is based on typical fiction item spine label labeling in a library setting.
This series is dedicated to readers, past, present and future.
How do your memories define you?
Imagine getting a notification out of the blue informing you that you elected to surgically remove a memory from your life. Harkin asks the question: what do memories of our bleakest moments say about us? What is the real correlation of memory and identity?

This piece incorporates a figure "8" shape that is inspired by the tiny bones of the inner ear, Georgia O'Keeffe's cow skulls and the plot of Harkin's book.
(After completing the piece, the author has learned that the spiritual representation of the infinity symbol is, in fact, a figure "8" in a vertical position.)
